John Sakars is a visual artist, performance artist, and motivational speaker from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
Visual Artist
John specializes in creating large collages from found objects and recycled materials. His art has been reported on by national media outlets, such as CBC Newsworld and Canadian Press. In June 2009, a photo reproduction of John's 4'X8' collage "Impaired Driving" (see first slide on Portfolio 1 page), was used as the front cover for the World Health Organization's Global Status Report on Road Safety. John's art is hung in buildings throughout Southern Ontario.
Performance Artist
John is a drummer and songwriter, and has made videos for several of his compositions. The videos can be seen on YouTube, at the following site:
John also writes comedy sketches, which he has performed at comedy clubs such as The House of Comedy and Yuk Yuk's. He has performed similar routines for various community groups, and for students at elementary schools and secondary schools.
